A recognized industry expert in the greater NASA/NOAA engineering community, Joe Predina is a former ITT/Exelis/Harris Technical Fellow with decades of experience designing, building and testing some of the most widely used, operational weather instruments flying in space or soon to be launched.

Experience

 

  • AVHRR, HIRS, GOES I-M, HES, ABI and CrIS—used operationally by NASA/NOAA and internationally for four decades to help forecast weather. Included integration of remote sensors to spacecraft as well as the ground processing of spacecraft data.
  • Currently consults for the Suomi NPP CAL/VAL science team associated with the CrIS program and provides support to Harris Corporation for CrIS follow-on development. His most recent projects were the hyperspectral HES, CrIS and GOSAT2 sensors.
